I’m The AltEd Teacher. I work in Alternative Provision and create practical strategies, reflections and resources for supporting SEMH learners. Everything here is written from lived teaching experience — shared anonymously to protect my pupils and my setting.

I started running an Internal Alternative Provision in 2023, and prior to this I worked in a mainstream education setting teaching English, Art, and a bit of music. I wanted to make the jump to a more pastoral focused job after a few years working within education, and since then I haven’t looked back.

My aim of this website is to share good practice, my own resources and ideas, and also to help others who may run/work in an AP.
